MASTER THE PIECES YOU WANT TO PLAY, EASIER and QUICKER
Still Making the Same Mistakes After Months of Practice?
Discover Why Traditional Practice Methods Keep You Stuck (And What Actually Works)

My methods are proven to work for any instrument and any musical style, but they are especially beneficial for those who rely on sheet music.
You’ll choose a piece to work on and I’ll show you the best methods to learn it quickly and accurately in this Play Music Better Coaching Week.
If you’ve been practising the ‘old way’—repeating passages until your fingers hurt, only to forget everything by next week—you’re not alone. And it’s not your fault.
Most music teachers still use methods from the 1800s. But neuroscience has revolutionized how we learn. This coaching week gives you the shortcuts professionals have been using for decades.
Three live coaching sessions where I’ll walk you through the exact practice methods I use (and teach my private students and Learn Music Together members) to learn music faster, more accurately, and with genuine confidence.
Whether you’ve been learning for years or you’ve just gotten started, practising the right way means…

You’ll achieve more in less time, meaning you’ll learn new material quicker and retain it longer.

You’ll improve your technical skills and attain proficiency at playing your instrument with better accuracy, speed and fluency.

You’ll play with more confidence, allowing your creativity and musical expression to shine through.
Many people dream of playing music well, but for some, the journey is more difficult than necessary. Even with investments in lessons, YouTube videos, and books, progress can still feel slow after hours of practice.
BUT HERE’S THE PROBLEM
➡ You already practise regularly, but you still struggle to make the desired progress.
➡ You’re making great progress one day, only to find those annoying mistakes return in the next session.
➡ You play perfectly at home, but fall apart in front of your teacher or at performances.
Your ineffective practice methods are costing you progress, time and musical enjoyment!
“But I’m [60/70/80]… Is it too late?”
Short answer: Absolutely not.
In fact, your life experience makes you an ideal student. You already know how to learn complex skills (your career, hobbies, raising a family). You just need the right practice framework.
Melvyn started applying these methods in his 80s
You have to learn how to practice the right way!
Here’s the thing I see time and time again with adult learners:
We repeat things endlessly hoping they’ll improve, but we never stop to ask what’s actually causing the problem.
Just like I was recently practising on an out-of-tune piano in Brunei and wondering why nothing sounded quite right, many of us are using practice methods that work against us—and we don’t even realise it.
Through years of teaching experience and immersion in the latest neuroscience research, I developed a methodology called Play Music Better. Now as a highly sought-after adjudicator, examiner and teacher of over 25 years, I’m proud to have helped countless adult learners unlock their full potential.
You can easily avoid making errors and make more rapid progress without hours and hours of work by developing the skill of effective practice.
What You DON’T Need
❌ Hours of free time (these methods work in 15-20 min sessions)
❌ Perfect technique already
❌ To be a “natural” musician
❌ Expensive equipment
❌ To attend live (recordings available forever)
You just need: A piece you’re working on and the willingness to try a smarter approach.
INTRODUCING
The Play Music Better Coaching Week
A coaching week for adults who are learning to play a musical instrument. It includes 3 comprehensive live sessions and covers all the essential topics you need to know to practise effectively.
Next coaching week starts October 29th, 2026.

Meet Your Coach
The musician behind Learn Music Together and the book Play Music Better. I help adults who are learning to play a musical instrument practice in a better way and play with confidence.
For over 20 years, I’ve been teaching music. I am an examiner for Trinity College London and a highly regarded teacher.
I can’t wait to share my knowledge, so I hope you’ll join me.
Great Teacher!
“I love the way you work and deliver your knowledge… you are a great teacher and much more…. I will always value and hold on to what you have taught me… 💯 ✨️ 😌 🙏 “ Roxy
THERE ARE 3 LIVE LESSONS INCLUDED
Each session builds on the previous
Part 1

Get Set for Success
The planning and preparation work that makes everything else easier (this is the step most people skip—and it’s costing them weeks of progress)
Part 2

Speed Up Your Learning
The practice techniques that help your brain encode music quickly and accurately (including why repeating things over and over often makes mistakes worse, not better)
Part 3

Play with Confidence
How to practise retrieval so you can perform reliably—whether that’s for your teacher, your friends, or an audience
You’ll choose a piece to practice throughout the course of the week and implement my play music methodologies as you go. You’ll learn how to:
✅ Get off to the best start by learning what to do before you even play a note.
✅ Save time by identifying repeated sections and patterns you already know.
✅ Avoid errors by learning how to structure your practice to prevent mistakes from forming in the first place.
✅ Get the timing right with my 4-step process to rhythmic precision.
✅ Improve every time you practice by knowing the best way to retain the progress you’ve already made.
✅ Speed up your learning with practice methods that work no matter what instrument you play or what level you are at.
✅ Improve your memory with retrieval methods for long-term retention.
✅ How to find your flow so you can enjoy playing more music
✅Real demonstrations using examples from your sheet music.
By the end of the three sessions, you’ll have the knowledge, skills, and strategies you need to take your musical journey to the next level.

Here’s what others have to say:
Finally managed to play in public
“It was my Folk group’s annual concert yesterday and I finally managed to play in public with both hands on my accordion. For me this feels like a real milestone. I’ve never managed it before. It’s one of those moments when I can clearly see that I have improved my playing over the last year.” Amanda

Very helpful even at my stage of life
“Thanks for the week, it was stimulating and informative. Very helpful even at my stage of life. I look forward to trying your ideas and planning etc, over my practices in the future.”

More from previous participants:

Enjoying music more than ever before!
“I am really benefiting from small practice sections and the metronome. I am now using the methods with other pieces. I want to thank Fiona. I have gained both confidence and knowledge from this masterclass.”
Esther – a dairy and crop farmer in Ohio who fits in her piano practice around her many daily chores.

“I am so motivated to adhere to this guidance now. I learnt this piece in one week using the methods from this masterclass!”
Avril is learning to play the harp in Manchester and found the confidence to record and share herself playing her piece.

It’s a Wonderful Week!
“I took away many things from this masterclass. I never thought about ‘recognising’ patterns in the music. It’s way more interesting than just starting from the beginning. There are so many other tips. It’s a wonderful week!”
Elisa from Canada is learning to play the cello and violin in retirement.
If you’ve got questions, I’ve Got Answers 😀
Is this masterclass right for me?
This is a right fit for any adult who is learning to play a musical instrument and wants to speed up their learning and play music with confidence.
Perfect for beginners who’ve made a start and are 100% committed to learning practice methods that set them up for success.
Intermediate players who want to see their progress skyrocket without extending practice hours, or anyone whose progress has plateaued and needs a way forward.
I’ve never done anything online before. Is this complicated?
Simple: You’ll get an email with a link. Click it. That’s it. If you can watch YouTube, you can do this.
What if I miss the live sessions?
Every session is recorded and yours to keep forever. Watch at 2am in your pyjamas if you want.
I’m not very tech-savvy. Can I still do this?
Perfect! The platform is designed to be simple. Click a link, watch a video. If you get stuck, email me directly at fiona@learnmusictogether.com.
What instruments does this work for?
Any instrument—piano, guitar, violin, saxophone, flute, harp, cello, you name it. The principles work universally. Those who rely on sheet music will find them especially beneficial.
Do you offer refunds?
I share an enormous amount in this coaching week for very little money. It’s extremely low-risk, and the cost is considerably lower than private tuition. Months of work have gone into this offer (actually years!). I want you to stand behind your own buying decision and really absorb everything these effective practice techniques have to offer. So NO refunds are not offered.
Are there transcripts, and/or do the videos have closed captions?
So happy you asked! My goal is to make this course as accessible and inclusive as possible, so I am providing transcripts for all videos, and the video player has a toggle to turn on closed captions
I still have a question- How can I get in touch?
No problem, please send an email to fiona@learnmusictogether.com and I’ll be happy to answer any questions that you have.
