The Learn Music Together Academy is designed to help adult learners. No matter what instrument you play, what style of music you prefer, or what level you are at. However, that doesn’t mean it’s right for absolutely everybody.

❌ If you are a professional musician who can already communicate musical intentions expressively, play fluently and rhythmically- then our lessons and materials aren’t really for you. However, you are still very welcome to join and may find the duets great practice for sight-reading each month.

❌ You are looking for someone to teach you explicitly about the techniques of your instrument. We do occasionally have masterclasses with musicians, but the material inside the membership is designed to help people strengthen the course foundations of music. These are things such as rhythm, effective practice methods, musical theory and sight-reading. As well as build your confidence and diminish performance anxiety.

❌ Suppose you hate communities and you are determined to learn by yourself without any help and guidance along the way. In that case, I wish you the best of luck as the Learn Music Together Academy is not for you.

❌ If you think you are already doing everything correctly, and you are not willing to try new ideas and methods of practice.

✅ If you love music and want to become more confident in your playing and learn more about how the fundamentals of music relate to the music that you play then the Academy is for you!

The Learn Music Together Academy welcomes people who are learning to play an instrument of all abilities. Whether you are teaching yourself, or you already have a teacher, Fiona will give you all the support you need during your practice time.

I took a lot of time planning the Learn Music Together Academy, and I gave careful consideration to the lessons, design, and delivery. I’ve spent over 20 years teaching music, examining candidates for Trinity College London, adjudicating internationally at music festivals and presenting at conferences.

This program is designed based on my teaching experience, the knowledge I’ve gained as a professional musician, my teaching qualifications and my experience as an examiner and adjudicator. I believe learning is a life-long journey, and I’m looking forward to continually improving our community as we grow

When you’ve completed the payment for Learn Music Together you’ll be redirected to the login page. Here you will be able to sign in using the user name and password you created on the joining form.

From there you can easily access our start here button for new members. Here you’ll find a welcome video that gives you a tour of the site. You’ll have a few short videos to watch, which will help you to navigate the site, and you’ll be able to join our private community forum.

In short, yes, however, you do have to do some work and the more you get involved, the sooner you will make progress. Learning to read music, use a metronome and gain confidence with your sight-reading are sure ways of helping you make progress.

You’ll have lots of fun along the way and you’ll soon be playing your favourite pieces, no matter what level you are at and what style of music you prefer. The lessons are guided through a road map, and I cover everything as I show you step by step. In the group chats, there is an opportunity to discuss with Fiona, what steps to take next and there’s always plenty of help available in the community.

Learn Music Together was created to help adult learners gain the confidence to perform their favourite pieces. Adults learn in a different way to children and the practice methods inside the membership will help you make progress straight away, without wasting months or even years trying to trial and error your way to success

While many courses and memberships focus on a particular aspect of music or instrumental tuition, LMT focuses on helping adult learners make progress by understanding how the theory relates to the practice. The focus is on learning to practice in an effective way, which strengthens your foundations of music and confidence. You’ll be part of a community of like-minded people who love to have fun and enjoy supporting each other.
